For group tickets and admissions in Paris museums it is essential to book early in advance to get a specific time slot.
This is also the case even for couples and families when it comes to the most popular museums such as le Louvre or the Orsay museum.
Timed tickets go on sale normally between 3 to 4 months in advance as the time slots get snapped up very quickly.
As an established French DMC incoming agency, we have solid partnerships with the museums and can help ensure admissions for the day and time preferred.
The further in advance we know the greater chance of getting a slot that can work for you.
Below you will find some of the museum recommendations and example prices of entrances or guided tours.
Please note, that if there are any children or students in the group (under 26 if from the EU or under 18 from elsewhere) there is free of charge entry.
We can arrange for your timed tickets to the Louvre with or without a guided tour. Some information to bear in mind:
Another of the very popular museums, here also you should get a timed slot entrance admission to avoid disappointment. We can organize visits with or without a guided tour.
Otherwise known as the National Museum of the Middle Ages, the Musée de Cluny “Cluny Museum” is a delightful little museum in the latin quarter.
It has recently been completely refurbished, the staff are ever so friendly and it’s often quoted as one of the favorites by tour guides themselves.
It’s a museum experience without the hordes of other visitors as you can find at the Louvre, for example.
For us, the highlight here is the frigidarium “the cooling room”. Here you can descend to where the ancient Roman thermal baths were. It’s superbly preserved and allows you
to really imagine Parisians of the time enjoying the benefits of Roman civilization. If you are like tapestries then you will be able to enjoy the six tapestries of the Lady and the Unicorn.
It can be a little difficult to describe this gem of a museum to those who haven’t visited. Many museum tour guides describe it like visiting someone’s house,
and that is exactly what you are doing as it was the home of Edouard André and Nellie André. To summarize, they were extremely wealthy and devoted their lives to collecting art,
especially from Italy where each year they often spent many months.
The museum is not too far to walk from the Champs Elysées and can be a nice visit alongside a day of shopping nearby. Entering from the busy Boulevard Haussmann is like leaving Paris
in a way, as the scale of the mansion is so surprising in central Paris.
The café Jacqeumart-André is worth a visit even if you’re not too into museums. With a beautiful interior and a terrace overlooking the courtyard, it’s the perfect place to enjoy pastries from the best Parisian Patisseries.
The quintessential Parisian tea/coffee & cake experience! At lunch they also serve light meals such as salads and quiches, but it can get very busy so arrive early or book.
It is also possible to visit the café without paying the entrance to the museum.
As this museum can be hard to picture in the mind, here is a link to their official website to get a better idea: André Jacquemart Museum
There are well over a hundred museums in Paris from the huge and extravagant to the tiny niche hobby museums. Here are 4 other museums we highly recommend and where we can arrange visits for:
